We rotate partners throughout the class so everyone gets to dance, learn, and have fun together.
Class Details

- Location: 1 Sheffield Street, London, WC2A 2AP, GB
- No partner needed – we rotate throughout the class
- No previous experience needed either
What You’ll Learn
In our Beginners sessions, you’ll learn the fundamentals of Lindy Hop: how to lead and follow, the pulse that gives swing its feel, and how to move to the music rather than just count steps. We build each week progressively, but every class is also self-contained – so if you miss a week, you can pick right back up.
Our Social Improver classes focus on developing the skills that make Lindy Hop feel effortless on the social floor. You’ll work on lead-follow connection, swing-outs and variations, musicality and rhythmic interpretation, and the kind of relaxed confidence that comes from truly understanding the dance rather than just memorising steps.
What to Bring
- Comfortable, flat-soled shoes – avoid heavy-grip trainers; smooth soles work best
- A water bottle – you’ll need it
- Comfortable clothing you can move in
- An open mind and a willingness to laugh at yourself
After Class
Learning doesn’t stop when the music does. After every class we share review videos so you can practise at home and reinforce what you’ve picked up. These are posted in our group – you’ll get the details on how to join in your first class. It’s also a great place to ask questions and connect with other dancers.
If you’re enjoying Beginners and want more, our Social Improver class (Level 1) follows straight after – so you can stay for both at a combined rate of £30.

Experience Levels
- Level 0 – Beginners
-
Building awareness of your body and your partner while developing comfort in the social dance environment. No partner required as we will rotate throughout class and no previous dance experience needed, as we will always start from the beginning. You’re discovering what connection feels like – recognising tension and compression, maintaining simple posture, and finding your own rhythm in the music. Small changes take conscious effort and a few attempts. You’re introduced to the origins of the dance: a tradition rooted in the Savoy Ballroom and created by Black artists. Our goal to get you ready for Level 1: We’ll work with you until you can comfortably maintain basic connections across different partners and can actively notice when something feels off.
- Level 1 – Social Improvers
-
Developing consistent fundamentals and beginning to connect your movement to the music. You’re building consistency in the five core elements across different partners. You recognise when your movement doesn’t match your intention and can self-correct with some prompting. Concepts are starting to connect, and you are exploring the music even more now, it is something you are dancing with, not just alongside. Our goal to get you ready for Level 2: We’ll have you dancing socially as a regular, integrating changes quickly, and maintaining your quality regardless of partner. And get you to ask questions like, do you like this dance, what do you think about the music?
