Description

'Lone Star Shag’ - Weekend workshops with Amanda Pincock (SoCal / Austin TX)

We’re thrilled to have our pal Amanda visiting the UK for the first time and bringing her shag expertise to London for a special pair of workshops!

You’ll know Amanda from her many appearances in top US and European Shag competitions, dancing with Zach Lockett-Streiff and Ryan Martin.

You may also recognise her from her perfect recreation of the Venice Beach Clip with Jeremy Otth: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCBfB32YBXE&list=RDnCBfB32YBXE&start_radio=1

Amanda will lead both workshops, supported by our own Peter Ayres.

Friday 31 July: The Scuffle: DJ Pre-Party at Hackney City Farm

Saturday 1 August, 1:15pm (*please arrive by 1pm*):

2-hour workshop (Intermediate)

Tailored for dancers who have the basics under their belts and want to improve their styling and repertoire

Sunday 2 August 2:15pm (*please arrive by 2pm):

2-hour workshop (Intermediate / Advanced)

Tailored for more confident dancers - and for anyone attending the previous day’s workshop!

Amanda began swing dancing as part of the Southern California ‘Swing Reivval’ back in 1995. She is now based in Austin, Texas, where she is a scene leader and teaches twice weekly. She proudly heads up Austin’s ‘Shag Jam’ and ‘The Shag Hags’ dance teams.
